If the calculated weight falls equally between two different blanket weights, we recommend choosing the lighter weighted blanket. A weighted blanket should always fit the child, not the bed. It should not hang over the edge of the bed to prevent the blanket from falling off.

What materials are WeeSprout weighted blankets made of?

WeeSprout weighted blankets are made with 100% Organic Cotton, which means your child stays cool and comfortable at night and during the day. The blanket contains non-toxic, lead-free, and hypoallergenic glass microbeads. The microbeads are the texture of sand, which means our blankets are quieter and more comfy than blankets with larger plastic pellet filling.

What prevents the glass beads from leaking out or moving around in the blanket?

4” quilted pockets keep the weight distributed evenly while reinforced stitching prevents the filling from leaking out of the blanket or into the other quilted pockets. 

Is my weighted blanket machine washable? 

Our weighted blankets are hand wash or dry clean only. If handwashing, use cold water and mild detergent, rinse well, then hang or lay flat to dry. We recommend using a WeeSprout weighted blanket duvet cover for a quick and easy way to keep your weighted blanket clean! 

Is my weighted blanket dryer safe?

Weighted blankets should not be used in the dryer. Lay flat or hang to dry.

Can I wash the weighted blanket?

We suggest using a duvet cover for your blanket, as it can be washed easily and more frequently. The weighted blanket is hand wash or dry clean only. If hand washing,  use cold water and mild detergent, rinse well, and hang or lay flat to dry (do not tumble dry)

Does the blanket include a duvet cover?

We offer white blankets that include a duvet cover and a dark gray blanket without a duvet cover. We also offer duvet covers that can be purchased separately.

What are the measurements of the weighted blanket?

The 5 pound blanket is 36" by 48."

The 7 and 10 pound blankets are 41" by 60" (twin-sized bed).

How do I attach the duvet cover?

The duvet cover is lined with ties that match the outside of the weighted blanket. See the attached diagrams for more help:

Is the blanket GOTS certified?

The blanket fabric is 100% organic cotton. However, it is not GOTS certified. We are committed to full transparency with our customers. If you would like to see our certification regarding organic cotton, please send us an email!

WeeSprout products are designed in Memphis, TN.The blanket is constructed by our manufacturing partners in China. We have strict Quality Control standards and require regular third-party checks for all of our products to maintain our high safety standards.
